## Reverting to your maiden name: certificates or deed poll?

Two routes work. Showing your marriage certificate, the death certificate and your birth certificate together is free, but each organisation applies its own policy and some still ask for a deed poll. The deed poll route gives you a single document in the reverted name that passport, DVLA, HMRC and banks already know how to process.

## In what order should I update records?
