The PDF is normally generated and emailed within minutes after successful payment, so you can print it today if you have access to a printer. Save the final download and follow the included instructions. Receiving the file does not complete the name change: signing, witnessing and record updates remain separate steps.

An unsigned PDF is a prepared document, not a completed deed poll. Print it and complete the signatures in ink with the witnesses present. HM Passport Office's guidance accepts properly completed online or self-prepared unenrolled deeds, but requires wet signatures and a date. Follow the receiving organisation's current evidence instructions.

A home-printed document that is properly signed is different from a photocopy of an already-signed deed. Do not type a signature into the PDF or send the watermarked preview as your completed document.

Arrange access to a printer before choosing a PDF service. We supply a downloadable A4 document and do not post a printed copy. You can use a printer you trust or a local print service, checking its price and privacy arrangements first. Print the final document, not the watermarked preview.

Open the saved PDF and check that every page, name and signature space prints clearly without being cut off. Collect all printed pages and remove the file from any shared computer when you finish. Keep the private download link to yourself.

If you want a document delivered on paper, compare a provider’s posted service and its full delivery charge. “Same-day dispatch” means an item leaves the provider that day; it does not mean it reaches you that day. You can print extra copies of your own PDF without a per-copy charge from us. Complete the required signatures on each copy you want to use as an original. A photocopy or scan of one signed document is different. Keep a signed original safely while other copies are with organisations.
